The accommodations we use are carefully chosen to suit your needs, requirements and expectations. Accommodation varies between comfortable lodges and pre-erected tented camps. As some regions have no established accommodation, we'll get back to nature and camp in the open, using the facilities of our mobile safari camp.

LODGES

The Game Lodge experience is based primarily on the wildlife of the area. Each lodge is situated in a unique area, is surrounded by unique natural features, has a unique view over a river or the surrounding countryside and embodies an experience that can be found nowhere else. Within any particular region, each lodge offers something special besides its accommodation.

Chobe Safari Lodge (Chobe National Park)

The Chobe Safari Lodge is located on the lush banks of the Chobe River 5 km from the gate to the world famous Chobe National Park. Newly furnished with stunning African decor, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioned, telephone and TV.
 
Various accommodations are available:

  • The 'River Wing' consists of air-conditioned rooms overlooking the river, complete with TV, telephone, and en-suite facilities.
  • The Luxury 'Rondavels' is spacious thatched chalets set along the
    riverbanks with overhead punka fans and en-suite facilities.
  • The Rondavels are similar with slightly smaller area and more modest decor.
  • A small number of special 'family suites' and 'family rooms'
  • The campsite is located next to the complex.

Makgadikgadi Camp (Makgadigadi Pans)

Situated on Hyena Island, Makgadikgadi is a real bush camp offering the very essence of Africa. Accommodation is in comfortable twin-bedded cottage tents secluded among palms and acacias. All tents have en-suite bathrooms and there is a dip pool for refuge from the midday heat.
 
The traditionally built mess, with its thatched roof and open fireplace, provides the perfect ambience for relaxation at the end of the day. Around the flickering fire the day's events are recounted, whilst your host conjures up the spirit of Africa. Legends of the bush gently unfold, punctuated by calls of the wild from the surrounding Makgadikgadi Pans.


 
Deception Valley Lodge (Central Kalahari Game Reserve)

This luxury lodge provides a rare type of bush experience in one of Africa's most remote areas - a semi desert area where Bushmen once roamed. The ethnic African theme of the lodge, attention to detail, personal service and very unique activities guarantees an unforgettable stay. A stay at Deception Valley Lodge combines the best in international standards of accommodation with all the excitement of being surrounded by the wild, untamed bush of Africa and all the wildlife that inhabits it.
 
Accommodation consists of five private units, each consisting of a twin bedroom, a lounge and a Victorian style bathroom with an outside shower. Each unit has a deck where you can sit and gaze at the vastness of the Kalahari bush, stretching for miles in front of you.


 
Taita Falcon Lodge (Zambia)

Situated on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River and overlooking the Batoka gorge formed by the mighty Zambezi.
 
The lodge is perched above rapid 17 on the very edge of the Batoka Gorge offering you one of the most superb views of the raging water 200m below. For a real "African experience", Taita Falcon Lodge is the place to stay. The lodge is rustic and constructed out of materials occurring naturally in the surrounding area. The 6 bungalows blend into their environment, and you will find all the amenities required for an enjoyable stay. Inside they are comfortably furnished with beautiful and spacious en-suite bathrooms. A generator provides electricity in the evenings.
 
Activities offered at the lodge are Nature Trails, Bush Walks, Bird watching, Fishing down in the gorge, a visit to senior Chief Mukuni's village, white water rafting, bungi jumping or a flight over the fall in a micro light.


 
Sitatunga Camp (Maun)

The camp is located approx 12 km from Maun heading towards Lake Ngami. Accommodation is available in the form of a shaded campsite, and fully equipped chalets each sleep three people. Destination Africa Tours has it's own private campsite at Sitatunga, with attached "lapa" and private ablution block. A guided tour can be done to the Crocodile farm, which are situated on the property.

CAMPSITES

Because of the country's desire to manage the parks on a sustainable level, visitors to these unique areas are strictly required to camp within designated camping sites. Leaving you to experience the essence of the wild. At all the following campsites we use our own mobile camping facilities, which include tents, a mess tent, bedding, fridge/freezer, stove, utensils, chairs and table and hot water.

Savuti Wildlife Campsite (Savuti)

It is a public camping ground. There are showers, hand-basins, flush toilets and water standpipes within the camping ground.


 
Xakanaxa Campsite (Moremi)

The camp is situated along the edge of the Okavango Delta; serviced by a good ablution block with showers, hand basins and flush toilets. Limited picnic tables and water standpipes are also available.


 
South Campsite (Nxai Pans)

Situated within a well-treed area not far from the entrance gate, the South Camp has four campsites with an ablution block containing showers and flush toilets. There are fire pits at the campsite and there are two water standpipes.


 
Maartin's Campsite (Zambia)

The campsite is well known for its African Pub. The campsite has an ablution block with showers, hand basins and flush toilets.


 
Camping at Liuwa Plains (Zambia)

No camping sites are found in Liuwa Plains. For this reason we'll choose an excellent spot to set up our own mobile camp.


 
Kubu Island camp (Makgadikgadi)

Kubu is a granite extrusion island studded with baobabs. No ablution facilitates are available. We use our own camping equipment.


 
Kabula Campsite (Sioma, Zambia)

A bush camp, complete with ablution facilities with hot and cold water and toilet facilities. The camp provides firewood as well.
